Here at Techmobility, we are not averse to a challenge. Indeed, we have built our business on making innovative adaptations for disabled motorists. Our mantra is, if we can't buy a part from one of our suppliers to adapt a customer’s vehicle, then we’ll make the part ourselves.
So, we were really put the test when one of our customers recently brought in their very own Tuk Tuk. You may well remember Tuk Tuks when they launched in Brighton; they are nifty little three wheeled motorised vehicles that scoot around with a maximum speed of 30 mph. Nowadays, you tend to see Tuk Tuk’s promoting special events.
Our client wanted her Tuk Tuk adapting to make it much easier for her to drive. We were challenged with transferring the gears to a left-hand lever and the hand controlled throttle to a right foot controlled pedal.
Needless to say, the job went very smoothly and the Tuk Tuk is now fully adapted much to our client’s delight.
We are now throwing down the gauntlet to any other adaptation specialists! Are we the first vehicle adaptation specialists to adapt a Tuk Tuk? Is this the first adapted Tuk Tuk?
Answers on the back of a postcard please!
