When a Lamborghini Purred into Town…
A couple of weeks ago we were asked to adapt a vehicle that had us in a bit of a tailspin. Not because we were concerned with our ability to adapt it. We do get our fair share of beautiful high-performance cars coming through the workshop doors, ready to be adapted before their owners can enjoy driving them. But because deciding who was going to test-drive the car, after it had been adapted, would be decided by tossing a coin.
Who was going to win the coin toss was the burning issue of the day…
What was the vehicle in question? It was a brand new, gleaming, black Lamborghini Gallardo Spider. Parked in our large workshop (which gave us plenty of space to circle around it) was £156,000 worth of gleaming metal, chrome and leather. It followed a long line of high-performance cars that we have adapted including a Porsche 911 Turbo and a Mercedes SL 63 AMG. With the Lamborghini Gallardo, we fitted our super discreet Techmobility hand controls which pleased the owner because to all intents and purposes, you could not see that the vehicle had been adapted.
So, who won the toss? It was won by Ryan, our MD. Was it a two-sided coin I hear you ask? We don't know but he does remind us that there have to be some perks for being the boss. And he really did enjoy the test drive on the M23, which runs parallel to our Sussex based workshop.
