Hand controls that operate the accelerator and the brake are designed to help drivers who either have a limited use of their lower limbs or no use at all. We have considerable experience in fitting hand controls.
We use our own brand known as push/pull hand controls. Because they are designed to be ergonomic and because we fit them in the lower steering column they are incredibly discreet. They compare very favourably with the more old-fashioned hand controls with their very visible rods that can make entering and leaving your vehicle more onerous.
We can fit an indicator toggle switch to your hand controls if required, whether a vehicle has standard or multiplex wiring.
We also install electronic hand controls for when our customers need additional support. A few of the electronic hand controls that we supply include:
- An electronic ring accelerator - the most advanced adaptation available providing a light control with a positive and comfortable response.
- An electronic satellite accelerator - generally regarded as providing the ultimate in versatility! Simply pressing the thumb button down means effortless acceleration.
- Radial accelerator - this provides an alternative to the standard controls where acceleration is performed simply by pushing downwards in a slight radial action, whilst braking is accomplished by pushing from the body.
- Brake Lever – 30 years in development and testing, this compliments all the accelerator systems. Pushing the lever away from the body engages the brake.
